Food business operators must make daily decisions about food safety and quality, often based on limited scientific data, or full knowledge of the consequences of deviations for the consumer, due to the limited capacity to carry out scientific analyses and detailed risk assessments.

IRIS, Partner and Work Package Leader of the STARTEC project, are pleased to host the 2 Year meeting in Barcelona, where it's organisation headquarters is based.

As part of the 18-month meeting, a number of STARTEC Partners travelled from Dublin to Belfast to visit the Agri Food and Biosciences Institute.

EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Maire Geoghegan Quinn visits the STARTEC stand at the Wire2013 Conference in University College Cork, Ireland.

The Annual Meeting of the STARTEC Consortium was held in Bologna, Italy on the 21st and 22nd of February.  The meeting was hosted by one of the partners, University of Bologna.

All the partners of the STARTEC project recently attending the 6-monthly meeting in Brussels. A review was given by all Work Package leaders of the work carried out to date.
